A proudly South African marketplace called LUNTU is 100% black women-owned.
LUNTU, which debuted two years ago, gives customers a simple method to buy goods that support their principles, empowering them to utilize their purchasing power for good.
A variety of businesses that offer anything from coffee to clothing, cosmetic products, and self-care items are gathered in the online market.

LUNTU employs a scoring system to emphasize the social purpose that the company supports, making it simple to shop for mission-driven products.
Kaya Biz with Gugulethu Mfuphi spoke to Amahle Ntshinga – Co-founder of Luntu about the journey of the marketplace.

The LUNTU index divides products into a variety of groups, including fair trade, vegan, eco-friendly, womxn-owned, and womxn-owned by Black people, to name a few.
Ntshinga spoke about how they got their first round of business when they started the platform.
“People must never underestimate the power of social media, we found a lot of our vendors on social media. We actually made a post where we told people o tag their favourite black-owned business, tag your favourite LGBTQi+ business that’s how we got the first round of sourcing.
“There are also a lot of online business directories, where you go on their platform and chack what kind of products they have.” said Ntshinga
