Amapiano star Lady Du advises fellow stars on how they can become millionaires like herself.
“Forget the fame and followers you can make millions even without it,” says the musician.
“The first thing any artist must do is register their music with SAMRO and SAMPRA”, says Lady Du.
Then record as much music as possible. Even if you don’t have the biggest song in the country but as long as your song is getting played on the radio, you will still be able to make money.
The more songs you have out the better.
“So if I calculate at my lowest selling song, let’s say that song makes 3000 a month x 100 = 300k a month y’all already know I have a lot of hit songs but I always calculate on the lowest one.
“This is called mass production like how a factory functions. Your catalog is forever.”
Lady Du says the biggest mistake most artists make when they start making money is buying expensive things
She saved up all the money she made in 2021 and bought two apartments with the savings and now they are making her money.
The moral of the story is to make sure you save and make the money work for you.
