Data finds that 65% of middle-income earners want ANC out of office in 2024.
According to a BrandMapp-Silverstone report posted on the website of Cape Town-based consultancy WhyFive, a recent online survey of nearly 1500 adults showed that 65% of middle-class earners are seriously considering not supporting the African National Congress in next year’s general elections.

According to a study, rolling blackouts have caused more than half of South African taxpayers to want to vote the ruling party out of office in the elections held the following year.

Rolling blackouts, also known as load shedding, have plagued the most developed economy in Africa since 2008 as a result of state power utility Eskom’s inability to meet demand with its outdated and badly kept plants.
BrandMapp-Silverstone says the daily outages are crippling the nation and spending R899 million each day.
“Taxpayers of South Africa are being pushed to the limits, not just of their tolerance, but of their ability to remain resilient, productive and positive about the future,”
“It could be argued that all social revolutions begin at the crest of a wave of urgency, and if that is indeed true, then we have certainly reached that point.” said BrandMapp-Silverstone.
