Actress and comedian Mo’nique recently made an appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, Club Shay Shay. In their conversation, she shared a story about a friend who confessed to being pregnant by someone other than her boyfriend but planned to deceive him by pinning the pregnancy on him.
Mo’nique, being a person of integrity, decided to come clean and tell the boyfriend the truth. This sparked a discussion between Kgomotso Meso, Sol Phenduka, and the listeners about the importance of holding each other accountable, even when it’s uncomfortable.
Sol Phenduka admitted that holding people accountable is not an easy task. He recalled a situation where a friend was being unfaithful, and he didn’t dare inform the girlfriend about the cheating.
However, Sol emphasized that if someone’s actions cross the line into criminal behavior, he feels compelled to hold them accountable. He firmly believes that he cannot withhold the truth if it involves breaking the law or engaging in illegal activities.
Mpho Maboi shared her experience of having a sister who always calls her out on her mistakes. She explained that her sister is not one to sugarcoat things. Whether it’s her or her brother, her sister always holds them accountable. As a result, they have reached a point where they feel comfortable holding each other accountable within their close circle of friends.
