This Sunday is Mother’s Day.
Being a mother is never something to take for granted and it comes with its own challenges.
A lot of women raise their children on their own and the pressure can be overwhelming.
But despite everything that mothers go through, South African actor Lerato Mvelase believes that women should appreciate themselves.
“Hey mums as we get ready to celebrate being mothers , I would like to remind you to truly embrace the meaning of being a mum in it’s entirety and celebrate. Being a mum is hard, very hard but look how far we’ve come through all the hardships,” she wrote.

The ‘Isibaya’ star believes that women should never pressure themselves into being the perfect mother.
“Let your kids be the reason you wake up and try again, let their existence put a smile on your face for they love you unconditionally. It’s not about being perfect but being able to put your kids first, their needs before yours. Giving your time, hugs and kisses, your love and support even when you need them yourself,” she added.
The 37-year-old says mothers should also take time to spoil themselves.

“Take time to truly embrace yourself over a glass of wine or bubbles of course and trust that you have done well with your kids,” she wrote.
Mvelase is a mother of two beautiful girls, Makayla and Nkanyezi.
