South Africa’s media darling Bonang Matheba has officially made the Big Apple her new home. The 33-year-old has relocated to New York.
Not that anyone is surprised – Queen B is a woman of her word! She first talked about her plans to move abroad in 2019.
The TV presenter said it has always been a dream of hers to make a name for herself globally.

She was initially supposed to move to the US in the first quarter of 2020, but COVID-19 threw a spanner in the works.
Queen B was apartment hunting in Manhattan when the pandemic shut down everything.
But Bonang assured her fans in February this year that she was moving full steam ahead with her relocation plans.
And she did exactly that last week. She packed up her bags and moved to America’s famous concrete jungle.
“I’ve relocated,” she replied when a fan asked why she has been so quiet.

Podcast with Charlamagne [Tha God]
Bonang Matheba’s team told All4Women in February that she has several projects already lined up in America.
“She’s looking at homes in New York where she’s got a lot of projects in the pipeline, including the podcast that she’s planning on launching with Charlamagne [Tha God],” her manager said.
Charlamagne is a well-known TV and radio presenter who is currently a co-host on ‘The Breakfast Club’ radio show.
Bonang already has a few friends in NYC she can turn to for advice. She visited Trevor Noah during a trip to America in 2019. Trevor is based in the Big Apple.
“Trevor Noah is someone who has inspired me and who I’ve had the honour of working with. To see him carry himself, SA and the dreams of so many young people is a reason to celebrate,” she told TshisaLive.
Leaving for good?
Bonang’s team has reassured her fans that she will not be leaving our shores for good. South Africa will always be home.
“This won’t be a permanent Goodbye. Bonang is planning on having homes on both sides. She LOVES her home, she loves this country and she’s got a lot of business projects which require her input in Mzansi so she won’t be leaving permanently. She will spend her time on both sides of the ocean,” her manager told All4Women.
