Grammy-award-winning producer Swizz Beatz surprised his wife Alicia Keys with a Mercedes-Maybach designed by the late Virgil Abloh. The vehicle is valued at around R5 million or more.
Virgil was an American fashion designer considered by his peers as one of the best of his generation. He died on November 28, 2021, at the age of 41, in Chicago.
In 2019, Abloh was diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma, a type of cancer, though he kept the diagnosis private.
In a video shared by Alicia Keys on social media, the singer and her family are seen at a Mercedes-Benz dealership to collect a car that is wrapped in a black cloth.
Her two sons unwrap the vehicle while her husband Swizz Beatz is heard in the background saying, “You are the first female with this machine.”
Visibly in astonishment, Keys says “I’m so excited. I’m in awe.”
Alicia Keys turned 42 in January this year.
