Just like the African continent, the rest of the world is mourning the untimely death of rapper AKA.
AKA, considered one of Mzansi’s all-time greats, and former manager Tibz were murdered outside a restaurant in Durban.
The award-winning rapper was scheduled to perform in the city later that evening.
A number of international stars and publications have paid tribute to the Supamega since the news of his passing broke.
South African-born acclaimed Hollywood actor Charlize Theron has been left heartbroken by the tragic passing of AKA.
“Another beautiful life cut short by a senseless act of gun violence,” she wrote.
“Sending peace and love to Kiernan’s family. Rest in power.”
Legendary US producer Swizz Beatz describes AKA as one of Mzansi’s “all-time greats.”
Bas, a conscious rapper signed under J Cole’s Dreamville records expressed disbelief over Kiernan’s passing. He says Forber always showed him “love and hospitality” every time they crossed paths.
Police investigations are underway.
