Her standout performance as Joyce Gomora in Netflix’s global hit series The Polygamist has not only opened the door to a new chapter in her career, but has also introduced her to a global audience.
Navigating fame, family and motherhood
In the conversation with Nandi, Gugu reflected on her journey through the entertainment industry, the lessons that have shaped her, and what it really means to navigate life in the public eye while constantly evolving.

The episode also explores the opportunities and challenges that come with stepping into international spaces while staying grounded.
Reflecting on the interview, Nandi said what made the conversation so special was discovering the many layers to Gugu beyond the characters audiences have seen her portray on screen.
“We spoke about motherhood, family, ambition, reinvention, and what it means to step into a new chapter while still honouring everything that came before. Gugu was incredibly open, and I think audiences will see a side of her they haven’t seen before.” Nandi said.
