Actress and singer Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema was critical of government’s response to the power crisis in the country, saying loadshedding is killing small businesses.
Simz took to her Instagram to vent her frustrations over the ongoing rolling blackouts, sharing how her friend who runs a salon is struggling to keep his business afloat.
“I went to my friend’s salon to do my hair last week, and there was loadshedding. I watched him struggle to get fuel for his generator after his fuel ran out, and I thought to myself this is so unfortunate because this is somebody that has made a plan to make a living for himself.
He’s not waiting for opportunities from government, yet the government is failing him.”

Simz says government’s talks to end loadshedding by next year is just a campaign to get votes for the elections because they are not sharing a viable plan to end the rolling blackouts.
The frustrated personality said Stage 6 loadshedding is also to blame for the ongoing water issues in Pretoria.
Earlier this week, Rand Water and JHB Water called for people to use water sparingly, saying demand is exceeding supply, but dams in Gauteng are not dry.
Simz Ngema says these conversations to call out government have to keep happening in order to hold them accountable.
