Nomsa Buthelezi Reflects on her journey to success
Nomsa Buthelezi, best known for her role as Awelani in the SABC2 soapie Muvhango and as the host of the Mzansi Magic reality show Our Perfect Wedding, recently opened up about her journey to financial stability and career success.
In 2021, she joined Kaya 959 to share her experiences with money and how she navigated different stages of her life.
Nomsa revealed that her perspective on earning a living changed when she met legendary actor Peter Ngwenya, who offered her a life-changing opportunity.
“I was unemployed for a while… then, all of a sudden, a phone call came. It was Peter Ngwenya, the Peter Ngwenya!” she recalled. “He said to me, ‘I’ve been watching you for a while, and I want to work with you.’ When he told me I’d earn R3,500 every Friday, with the potential to earn more if we had shows, I couldn’t believe it.”
