Nomsa ‘GomoraDiva’ Buthelezi is a South African actress best-known for her role as Awelani in the SABC2 soapie, “Muvhango” and for hosting the Mzansi Magic reality show “Our Perfect Wedding”.

Making her first big pay cheque
She realised that she should start making serious money when she met legendary actor Peter Ngwenya, who offered her a golden opportunity that would see her perform alongside the likes of Terry Pheto.
“I was unemployed for a while…all of sudden a phone call came. It was Peter Ngwenya, thee Peter Ngwenya!
“ He said to me I’ve been watching you for a while and I want to work with you. When he said to me, he would pay me R 3500 every Friday and would get paid more if we had shows, I couldn’t believe it.”
Life lessons that came with money.
Buthelezi shared how clever she was with her first big paycheck, where she renovated her mother’s house. She also acknowledges that there were moments where she made carefree decisions she had to learn from.
“I had to learn to take care of money. When you grow up in a township and you are on television, people see you as this person who rich, who has money.
