DJ Sbu reacts to PRIME Energy drink landing in South Africa.
DJ Sbu, real name Sbusiso Leope, has used his YouTube account to congratulate the PRIME entrepreneurs on their success and to let his fans and followers know that he is not envious of the new energy drink that has taken South Africa by storm.
PRIME drinks officially launched in the country sending South Africans into a frenzy.
While many expressed the excitement with the introduction of the energy drink, other asked why the same hype was there for local energy drinks like Mofaya.

It initially retailed for over R500 a bottle was was later sold by SA retail giant Checkers for R39,99.
In a lengthy video posted on his own YouTube channel on Monday, the celebrated South African social entrepreneur said he is not jealous of PRIME and offered perspective on why their introduction to the South African market was a great thing.

He also touched on the significant of Mofaya receiving FDA approval earlier this year to sell his drink in the United States.
“I love competition. It’s actually not even competition, what am I even saying. Because that’s a sports drink. That’s more of a sports drink like your Powerade and your Energade – they are in that marketplace.”
“They are not an energy drink like a Mofaya, a Dragon, a Reboost, a Play, a Redbull or a Monster. If there’s anybody who inspires me, it is the two South Africans who started Monster,”
“Be careful of being duped or enticed about all these European, American and foreign brands and products when you have better here at home. You could be so excited about wearing other brands when you’ve got better here at home.
“Let’s not be too easily excited about things coming from overseas that are too expensive with no value to add into our lives”.
