One of South Africa’s oldest soapies is set to stop airing after nearly 60 years on Mzansi’s screens.
South African viewers will no longer hear the famous intro ‘Like sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives’.
eTV has announced that it is refreshing its lineup to make way for more local content.
The show was previously on both SABC 1 and SABC 3 before it was taken over by eTV a few years ago.

The channel has also announced that it will be dropping US shows NCIS and Chicago.
The changes are said to commence in April when viewers will be introduced to a new local telenovela called The Black Door.
The new telenovela will star Nomzamo Mbatha’s baby brother Zamani Mbatha, Sello Ramalahloane, Velaphi Mnisi, Linda Sebezo and Gabisile Tshabalala.
Marlon Davids, managing director of e.tv channels recently addressed the media with the upcoming changes to the channel,
“By adding new things to e.tv’s schedule and trying to create new content, some of the things have to go since there are only so many hours in a day. Days of Our Lives is discontinued from 11 April,” said Davids
