Dr. John Kani was honoured with the Order of the British Empire.
Dr. John Kani’s contributions to theater and drama have earned him the title of honorary Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
After being named an honorary Officer of the Order of British Empire, Kani declared that he would visit Buckingham Palace in England at the appropriate moment to meet with His Majesty King Charles.
Dr. Kani was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga Silver in 2016 as a national honor for his outstanding contributions to theater during the fight for a democratic, non-racial, and non-sexist South Africa.
