A frustrated listener recently reached out to express his annoyance after his wife surprised him with a thigh tattoo. Ever since she got inked, she has been coming home in the wee hours of the morning and dressing in revealing outfits, according to the listener.
“Last year, my 46-year-old wife came home with a tattoo. I was not too pleased with it, but it looked nice. In March of this year, she got another tattoo, and I pleaded with her that it be her last. Last week, she came home with a much bigger tattoo on her thigh. I feel so defeated right now. Since she got the thigh tattoo, she has worn short things. She sometimes even takes some of our teen daughter’s clothing and always wants to be out and about.
“Even her friends are concerned about this. I followed her a couple of times to see where she went and with whom. She either goes out with the same group of friends or alone to have a drink. I am getting frustrated because she doesn’t let me in, or is this what they call a midlife crisis? What do I do?

One listener, who is going through the same thing, doesn’t believe that Anonymous’s wife is experiencing a midlife crisis. “I got out alone, and I think being in a relationship that restricts you from doing things that you love makes you want to do them even more. She has raised her kids and grown her career, and the only thing left to do is to enjoy life.”
