Costa Titch’s family have broken their silence after his untimely death this past Saturday, 11 March.
The 28-year old rapper died after collapsing on stage during his performance at the Ultra SA music festival in Nasrec.
Costa whose real name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, was reportedly epileptic and it is believed he had a seizure on stage.
While the artist’s cause of death hasn’t been disclosed, Costa’s family have asked fans to keep them in prayers as they try to make sense of his sudden death.
“Death has tragically knocked at our door. Robbing us of our beloved son, brother and grandson. Constantinos Tsobanoglou (28) who South Africa had come to love and idolize under his stage name “Costa Titch.”
It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time.
We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth.”
While several media outlets have pinned the cause of Costa’s death on a seizure possibly triggered by the harsh strobing lights at Ultra Festival, the family is calling for time and space.
