Petrol price to increase to R22.95 on April 5.
The Central Energy Fund (CEF) reports that rates for both 93 and 95 unleaded gasoline are anticipated to increase by 35c/l on April 5. High-sulfur 0.05% diesel is anticipated to cost 9 cents less per liter, while low-sulfur 0.005% diesel will cost 11 cents less. Illuminating paraffin should cost 53c less now.
Next month, drivers can anticipate yet another increase in the price of petrol, but diesel prices are predicted to decline.

In a statement released last month, the Automobile Association (AA) called it a jolt that many South Africans couldn’t afford.
“Consumers can simply not afford any more price shocks and considering the impending 18.65% increase to electricity rates, an increase to the levies will deal a massive blow to personal finances,”
According to the CEF, this is preliminary data that could change before month’s end and is dependent on the current rand-to-dollar exchange rate and oil price.
In Gauteng the following prices per litre apply:
- 95 ULP: R22.95
- 93 ULP: R22.65
- Diesel 500ppm: R21.62
- Diesel 50ppm: R21.72
