Bathobile Mlangeni, the 29-year old woman who allegedly stole R4 million from SBV services two years ago has finally been arrested.
The woman appeared at the Alexandra magistrates court on 14 January where she faces charges of theft.
Mlangeni allegedly stole R4 million, stuffing the money in refuse bags and wheeling the cash out in a trolley.
She was employed as a security guard at SBV Services, cash depot in Midrand.
CCTV footage caught her in the act and when she didn’t show up to work thereafter, a search ensued to find her.
Family friend said Bathobile Mlangeni barely had cash.

“She barely had any clothes and she would ask me for R5 or R10 so she could buy airtime.”
She appeared briefly in court today and the matter was postponed to 24 January 2022

Bathbile Mlangeni however, laid low after the money went missing in 2019 and was arrested in Zola, Soweto earlier this month.
She managed to live a quiet existence by claiming to be “on the run” after an abusive relationship.
According to reports the woman lived simply and even borrowed money from the elderly woman she lived with for airtime.
Police searched the house that Mlangeni was found at but did not find the money.
Mlangeni’s bail application has been postponed to 24 January.
