A group of dissatisfied members of the new party on the block Action SA, protested outside the Johannesburg City Council sitting on Thursday 14 January.
The 50 protesters were saying that their party leader Herman Mashaba promised them that they would be considered first as council representatives for the party.
The group which is from Soweto also said they want PR seats removed as they do not represent them.

One of the leaders of the protest spoke very sharply about how due process wasn’t followed, as she handed over a memorandum to the leadership on Thursday.

Action SA ran like a cult?
Action SA’s Mandla Niyacela who spoke to ENCA said the party was being run like a cult and also disputed claims that Makhosi Khoza is a spy.
“Action SA is being run like some cult organisation by Herman Mashaba, hands-off Makhosi Khoza we are in solidarity with her. She is not a spy.
“She is stood against the ANC everyone saw that. We’re all watching. Khoza has the interest of this country at heart.”
