DJ Fresh, Uncle T, Andy Maqondwana, Glen Lewis, Skhumba and Kgomotso Meso get the ultimate retro makeover, and the results are a trip down memory lane.

There’s a new trend in town, and it’s bringing back the 80s in a big way.
The viral 80s AI photo trend has taken over social media, with incredibly realistic images showing what people might have looked like in the decade of big hair, bold fashion and larger-than-life style.
The trend brings the nostalgia of the 80s to life with retro backgrounds, vintage cars, statement hairstyles, and old-school photography.
And you don’t need an old camera, vintage clothes, or your parents’ photo albums to join in. All you need is a good-quality photo of yourself, an AI platform of your choice, and a good prompt to create your own throwback image in seconds.
We decided to give some of your favourite Kaya 959 presenters an 80s makeover and see what they would look like if they had stepped in front of the camera four decades ago.
Yes, we know some of our presenters were already around in the 80s, so they have a pretty good idea of what they looked like back then. But join in on the fun!
From Kaya Breakfast’s DJ Fresh and The Best T in the City’s Uncle T aka Tbose Mokwele to Feel Good’s Andy Maqondwana and the Drive 959 team of Glen Lewis, Skhumba and Kgomotso Meso, the results are serving serious 80s energy.
