Reality TV star and businesswoman Nonku Williams has slammed Beverly Steyn for taking their personal matters to the media, saying she failed to consider everyone involved.
This comes after Real Housewives of Cape Town (RHOCT) star Beverley Steyn confirmed that she has taken legal action against her former best friend, Nonku, for allegedly failing to repay a substantial amount of money she had borrowed.
Bev told News24 that Nonku Williams International initially borrowed R2 million, but they later settled for a different amount and signed an agreement.
In response, Nonku said the situation has taken a huge toll on her children’s mental health.
“What hurts the most is the fact that the person who shared this publicly didn’t understand or consider the mental and emotional toll this has taken on my children.
“My child has just started at a new campus, and this should never be the first thing she’s known for. My children are innocent. They didn’t ask for this. The damage this has caused them is deeply unfair.”
The Real Housewives of Durban star clarified that she is not refusing to pay her former “bestie in Christ” back, saying her only mistake was that the payment was delayed.
She said she has every intention of paying Steyn back in full.
“I reached out to her previously, and we were supposed to resolve this matter privately,” she said.
Nonku concluded by acknowledging that money can be the root of so much hurt, even between two people who once cared about each other.
“I am not asking for pity, I am asking for grace. I am human, I am a single mom, and I am doing the best I can even when I fall short,” she added.
She further thanked her new boyfriend, Lungani Ramaledi, for standing by her side during these trying times.
