American singer Justin Timberlake has revealed he has been diagnosed with “relentlessly debilitating” Lyme disease.

Global pop superstar, Justin Timberlake, has disclosed that he has been living with Lyme disease, describing the condition as “relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.”
The singer’s announcement, made via a lengthy social media post, came as his Forget Tomorrow world tour concluded, shedding light on a health battle that has taken place behind the scenes.
Timberlake’s candid statement addressed months of fan speculation and criticism regarding his perceived lack of energy during performances. He revealed that the diagnosis helped him understand the “massive amount of nerve pain” and “crazy fatigue or sickness” he was experiencing while on stage.
“I’ve been battling some health issues, and was diagnosed with Lyme disease – which I don’t say so you feel bad for me – but to shed some light on what I’ve been up against behind the scenes. If you’ve experienced this disease or know someone who has – then you’re aware: living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically,” wrote Timberlake.
Lyme disease, a bacterial infection transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected tick, can present a wide range of symptoms.
If left untreated, the infection can spread, leading to more severe and long-lasting problems. These can include:
- Joint pain and swelling: Often affecting the knees and other large joints, this can be a hallmark of later-stage Lyme disease.
- Neurological issues: Patients may experience nerve pain, facial paralysis, or problems with memory and concentration, often referred to as “brain fog.”
- Heart problems: The infection can, in some cases, lead to an irregular heartbeat or other cardiac issues.
The singer concluded his post by expressing his hope that by being more transparent, he could help others experiencing the disease and foster a greater sense of connection.
