SA celebrates ’30 Years of Freedom’ at New York’s Times Square on the NASDAQ Tower.
In the center of New York City on Wednesday, South Africa put on a stunning show of pride and a fitting celebration of how far the country has traveled in the last 30 years.
One of the most recognizable billboards in the world, the NASDAQ Tower in Times Square, was illuminated with an advertisement honoring “30 Years of Democracy” and our approaching Freedom Day.
Furthermore, it’s not just a one-night event; it’s the beginning of a run of activities to celebrate our “30 Years of Democracy” that will take place over the next few days.
The narrative of South Africa was told on this enormous screen at that unique moment, summarizing the last 30 years of our country’s development.
Together with several partners, the South African Consulate General in New York City launched this incredible initiative.
