A 15-year old learner at Photani High School in Limpopo has been stabbed to death by a fellow learner.
Police confirmed that a 17-year old has since been arrested and is expected to make an appearance at the Malamulele Magistrate Court on Monday, 04 March.
Innocent Mochavi, a Grade 10 learner was stabbed after allegedly getting into an altercation with the accused suspect, whilst attending a school cultural event.
Police spokesperson, Malesela Ledwaba shared that Innocent was stabbed in the abdomen, and succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
“During a confrontation, the suspect produced a knife and inflicted fatal wounds on Innocent before fleeing.
Despite immediate medical attention, Innocent tragically succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The motive behind this violent incident remains under investigation by police who are currently conducting further inquiries to establish all circumstances that led up to this harrowing event.
The suspect is currently in custody.”
Innocent’s untimely death has sent shockwaves at the school, and the department will be conducting its own internal investigation into the incident.
