“We must win with a two-thirds majority” – Jacob Zuma’s message to Julius Malema on his 43rd birthday.
Former President Jacob Zuma wished the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters a happy 43rd birthday.
In his message on social media, Malema was referred to by Zuma as his brother, and he emphasized the significance of bringing about national change.
Zuma also went on to say: “be ready that we must have our two-thirds as a black majority in this country.”
Malema, a former president of the African National Congress youth league who later left the ruling party to form the Economic Freedom Fighters, has on multiple occasions been spotted with the former President. In 2021, he made headlines when he visited the former statesman at his homestead in Nkandla for some “tea”.

Zuma also emphasized the significance of Malema’s age and his political achievements thus far.
“Happy birthday, you are now 43. That is a very good age, in the circumstances in which we are. I want to wish you, happy birthday, and wish you and all of us to change the country this year.
“Whether they like it or not. We must win with two thirds majority, and you will be saying. I got to this level; I was 43. That is a good age, enjoy, do whatever you want.
“Be ready that we must have our two thirds as a black majority in this country, then we will sort out other things thereafter.”
