Electricity Minister, Dr Kgosienthso Ramokgopa will embark on several follow-up visits to power stations this November.
Ramokgopa will from Monday, 06 November be visiting Eskom power stations to acquire more insights into the challenges facing the power utility.
The visits are follow-up visits to power stations that the Minister first embarked on when he was appointed as Minister in the Presidency in March 2023.
Ramokgopa’s visits will include a 3-day visit in Mpumalanga of the Arnot, Hendrina, Kriel, Matla, and Camden stations.
This will be followed by a stop at Lethabo on Monday, 13 November, and then Ankerling and Koeberg in the Western Cape on 14 November.
During his visits, the Minister will engage with management, unions, and workers to ascertain how to advance the necessary interventions required to fix Eskom.
This is in line with the objectives of the Energy Action Plan, which was established to improve the reliability of electricity supply and end load shedding.
