The Springboks will meet France in the Rugby World Cup Quarter Final, after advancing in Pool B of the Group Stages by beating Tonga 49-18.
South Africans who are proudly backing the boys in green and gold, may already feel confident that the WC is coming home yet again, but the Boks are concerned about their clash with the host side.
The last time the Boks encountered France, ended in defeat for the SA national side, with the Boks reduced to 14 men due to a red card, resulting in France winning 30-26.
In a statement issued, Springbok assistant coach, Daan Human said there’s a reason France is the second-ranked team in the world, and the clash on Sunday will be a challenge that the boys need to prepare for.
“I think they (France) are better than last year, but so are we.
If you train hard, you’ll naturally get better as a team. But, just as they believe in themselves, we believe in our players as well.
France are strong in every department, that’s why they are the No.2 team in the world. They also won all four pool games and did very well against New Zealand, so there isn’t one area one can say they are particularly good at.”
The Boks will be in Paris on Monday, 09 October to prepare for the QF against France which kicks off on Sunday, 15 October at 21h00.
