Kaizer Chiefs are set to go on a pre-season tour around the African continent, where they will participate in exciting friendly matches in Tanzania and Botswana.
The tour will kick off on Saturday, July 22, with a friendly against Young Africans SC in Dar es Salaam at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Tanzania. The game is scheduled for a 19:00 kickoff.
Young African stars are the double-defending Tanzanian champions, and six of their players were called up to the squad for Tanzania’s Africa Cup Of Nations qualifier against Niger last month.
Then on Saturday, July 29, Kaizer Chiefs will face Township Rollers at Botswana’s National Stadium in Gaborone for a 15:00 kickoff.
Rollers are the most successful team in Botswana’s history (having won more league titles and cups than any of their domestic rivals) and the country’s best-supported club.
These forthcoming games will allow new head coach Molefi Ntseeki to test out his squad.
“These two matches against excellent teams will give me a chance to have a good look at our players, gauge the team in a proper match situation, and assess where we are in our preparations for the new season,” said Ntseki.
