Bathu founder and businessman, Theo Baloyi has launched a new sneaker range Kalanga under the Bathu umbrella.
“A collaboration with our founder and Group CEO Theo Baloyi, this sneaker is a celebration of authenticity and being true to who you are as an individual.
“This is a gift from Mr Baloyi to thank you, our loyal supporters for your support over the years. KHALANGA, it is who YOU are.”
Bathu
Khalanga is derived from Baloyi’s clan name. “It will forever be who I am as it’s deeply connected to my roots. I collaborated with Bathu on this product offering to celebrate my identity, authenticity, and a dream realized through people believing in me. Africa – I thank you,” said Baloyi.
With this new range, Baloyi encourages everyone not to shy away from their identity; “it’s time we incorporate our identity into value propositions, products, service offerings, ecosystems, and infrastructure,” said its founder.
This is Baloyi’s second business venture in the last 6 months. In December 2022, he opened his second cosmetic store in Venda, Thavhanu Mall.
Baloyi currently has over 38 Retail stores and employs over 400 people.
He says starting off selling perfumes door to door in the township, he didn’t think he’d end up with his own cosmetic boutique store.
“Never underestimate small beginnings, the door-to-door selling experience has contributed to the Leader I am today.”
