Kwaito star L’vovo Derrango announces his decision to pull out of the forthcoming Cotton Fest show after his doctor advised him against doing so.
In 2022, Lvovo suffered a stroke while performing on stage in Indwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal. Earlier in the same year, he got involved in a car accident, which left him in the ICU for a month.
In his statement, L’vovo notes that the past few months have been the “toughest period” in his life.
‘I literally had to watch my life flash before me. Through it all, I’ve received unwavering support from my fans, family, and friends,” says Derrango, who’s been in constant engagement with his doctor these past few days about his condition. “Regrettably, the doctor has advised me to take it easy since I’ve not fully recovered,” he said.
“I’m sorry to announce that after lengthy discussion, we have taken a decision not to perform at the Cotton Fest this coming weekend.”
The musician expressed his sincere apologies for any ‘inconvenience caused’ and hopes to partake in the festival in the near future when he has fully recovered.
Cotton Fest is set to take place this Sunday, July 2, at the Kings Park Stadium Outer Fields in Durban.
