English Premier League side Chelsea has been on a downward spiral since American Billionaire Todd Boehly bought the club in 2022.
Boehly has spent over R100 billion in transfers that have flopped so far and appointed a ring of bad managers. Following the sacking of Graham Potter in March after just 6 months, Boehly re-appointed former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard who was previously fired due to bad results.
Six games in, Lampard has yet to win any game as Chelsea manager and the North London club finds itself 11th in the league table with just 10 points away from the relegation zone.
New reports coming out of London suggest that Chelsea is close to appointing former PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino in the new season. Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that “Mauricio Pochettino is now closer than ever to getting the Chelsea manager job after a new crucial round of positive talks.”
Negotiations are believed to be entering the” final stages.” Pochettino was sacked by PSG in July 2022 after failing to win the Champions League. Poch had previously managed Tottenham Hotspur.
