The SRC at Wits says it has raised around R3.5-million to assist students who are in urgent need of financial assistance.
The student body embarked on a campaign earlier this year to raise R21-million for struggling students.
Wits SRC President Mpendulo Mfeka says they are still receiving calls from students in need of assistance.

Demonstrations continue
Meanwhile, student demonstrations at universities are expected to continue this week.
The South African Union of Students says it will take the protest to the Union Buildings.
The students have been protesting, calling for an end to financial exclusion.
They also want government and universities to agree to scrap historical debt.
The Union’s Bongani Mahlangu says an agreement has been reached by the various SRCs to take their fight directly to government.
Mthokozisi Ntumba latest
New details have emerged about the cops arrested in connection with Mthokozisi Ntumba‘s death.
Ntumba was shot dead, allegedly by police, during a student protest in Braamfontein earlier this month.
He was leaving a clinic on De Beer Street when he was shot. Four Public Order Policing (POP) officers were arrested.
According to the Sowetan, three of the officers have had previous run-ins with the law.
Some of the cases include drunken driving and attempted murder.
