Renowned thespians Rapulana Seiphemo and Connie Ferguson are set for a return to Generations: The Legacy.
This time around their stints in the drama will be brief.
“Generations: The Legacy is proud to welcome two beloved guest performers in the month of April. Viewers will no doubt be delighted by the appearance of Karabo Moroka (played by Connie Ferguson) and Tau Mogale (Rapulana Seiphemo) who will grace our screens once more in their historic roles”, read a statement from the SABC.
Viewers are promised “all the class, charm, and poise that these two have brought to the roles of Tau and Karabo” in the past.
The current storyline demands intervening from the “two important characters as part of the larger Generations.”
Connie Ferguson began playing the role of Karabo Moroka in 1994. Karabo is the wife of Tau Mogale and sister to Archie Moroka. After playing Karabo for 16 years, Connie left the drama to focus on Ferguson Films. She returned to Generations in 2014 to help with the relaunch.
Rapulana left Generations: The Legacy in 2020 after 18 years on the soap drama to play the character Hector Sebata in The Queen.
The news has been met with mixed reactions by fans on social media:

Connie Ferguson on battling depression
In 2022, Connie Ferguson joined 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Sol Phenduka for a ‘DECODED’ interview, where she opened up about her battle with depression.
“There was a time when I was on anti-depressants I think for three years. And then I decided that it wasn’t going to be my life. I did therapy.
“I saw a psychologist and that almost did not work for me and then I saw a trauma counsellor. This is interesting to know as well that the way the two work is different because their approach is different. I saw all of them,” shared. Connie in part.
