Actor Kay Sibiya has been accused of drugging and raping former Gagasi FM presenter, Zookey Zarling which resulted in her falling pregnant with their daughter.
Zookey made the damming allegations on social media. She claims that Sibiya was “sent to kill her first by pastors and drug lords, but that he drugged her and raped her.”
Kay Sibiya responds to the allegations against him through a statement.
He says it is “with utter sadness and regret” that he writes this statement to express himself to the public.
“I have noted the malicious and defaming utterances that have been made by Ms. Z Vuthela on social media, implicating my name. Serious accusations of rape and assault have been made against me by the mother of my firstborn child.”
Sibiya says claims the allegations are false. “The truth is, I did not rape nor assault Miss Zukiwe ‘Zookay Zarling” Vuthela at any time.”
In a country where GBV is so prevalent, the actor says he finds the accusations “highly irresponsible with the intention to cause unjustified harm to an innocent person.”
Given the sensitive nature of the matter, Sibiya has opened a case of defamation of character, false accusation, and kidnapping.
“The South African justice system will handle this case and ultimately, in the end, the truth shall prevail.”
