Vusi Kunene is saying goodbye to ‘Generations: The Legacy’.
The veteran actor reportedly quit the show to pursue other opportunities.
Vusi’s character, Jack Mabaso, returned from the dead in 2015 after ‘Generations’ bosses decided to reprise the role.
He juggled both his character as Jack Mabaso and on ‘Isibaya’ as Bhekifa Ngubane at the time.
Vusi also briefly joined the cast of ‘Gomora’ in May 2020 for a guest appearance.
South Africa’s favourite villain
The local icon is the king of villainous roles. He played ‘Isidingo’’s dodgy businessman, Jefferson Sibeko.
Vusi’s last appearance on ‘Generations’ will air in May.
According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, he has signed on to star in a new show that will be replacing ‘Rhythm City’.
Vusi’s fans react to his ‘Generations’ exit
Some of Vusi’s fans have already predicted that he will be playing yet another villain.
“The saddest thing is that people like Bab’ Vusi Kunene are always getting type casted and with the lack of diversity in writers. I have a feeling I’ll see him acting something similar to Jack Mabaso,” one Twitter user wrote.

One fan said ‘Generations’ will not be the same without Jack Mabaso.
“A wise man always knows when to bow down while still relevant and loved. Go do you somewhere, we will support you there as well.”
