Operating during lockdown
Shimza said during the lockdown there was a lot of pressure to stay afloat as a business and that the main objective was always to ensure that the people who work at the restaurant were able to sustain themselves through the difficult time.
“I was fortunate that I had a TV show that could give me some form of income during that time, I used that income to sort of spread it through to the restaurant. We had to close and for the first couple of months we were able to pay our staff, at some point our pockets ran very dry. “
This past week took to social media to announced that he’s branched out and bought a second restaurant in Midrand to add to his venture in Tembisa.
Over the weekend, he shared the exciting news of his new acquisition on Twitter. “I’m on two restaurants, one in Tembisa and one in Midrand, The Hang Awt and Fridays,” he tweeted.
