Banyana Banyana defeated Zambia 1-0 on Monday night to advance to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final.
VAR helped Banyana when Jermaine Seopesenwe and Martha Tembo of Zambia collided.
Ethiopian referee Lydia Tafesse pointed to the penalty spot following a lengthy VAR deliberation.
The crucial penalty awarded to Linda Mothlalo in the 94th minute separated the Copper Queens from Banyana Banyana.
This assured that Desiree Ellis’ ladies would go to their second consecutive final, where they would face Morocco.
