Police Minister Bheki Cele has received heavy criticism after he chose to pour away over 30 000 litres of confiscated alcohol.
This after two more mass shooting incidents over the weekend. Instead of addressing the latest shootings and prioritising rampant crime in the country, Cele chose to tackle the heavy task of illegal alcohol.
The Minister who was in Cape Town on Monday, 18 July, was joined by several members of the South African Police Services.
Some 30 000 litres of alcohol will according to the Minister be disposed off.
Cele looked like he was enjoying discarding the alcohol, and had a grin on his face as he did so. He shared that the alcohol was confiscated by law enforcement officials for various reasons.
Calls for Bheki Cele to be removed as the Police Minister have increased over the past few months and his recent public rants are wearing thin.
An online petition calling for Cele to step down has reached over 100 000 signatures.
