Kelly Khumalo‘s sister, Zandie, has broken her silence about that fateful night that cost Senzo Meyiwa his life.
In an interview on eNCA, Zandie Khumalo says it’s strange that Senzo’s wife, Mandisa was never a person of interest.
“Senzo made no secret of the fact that his wife was not happy about his relationship with my sister. He was planning on leaving Mandisa for Kelly. Mandisa and Senzo’s mother tried everything to not make that happen, even muti.”

She says it was easier for Kelly to be the villain in Senzo’s story and thinks it’s a cliché that the woman he was having an affair with was singled out as the one who killed him.

“We had to do it all, lie detector tests, grilling interrogations but the police keep fishing in one pond. Why are they not exploring other avenues? Who’s to say, Mandisa didn’t arrange a hit on Kelly and Senzo died in the crossfire?”

Sharing Senzo’s final moments, Zandie recounted how her family had to endure years of torture following Senzo’s death.
It was Zandie who was in the back of the car with Senzo, while he was being rushed to the hospital on the 26 October 2014.
“I was the one sitting with Senzo at the back [of the car] putting pressure on his wound. When we were on our way to the hospital I could feel him getting cold from his feet…I was busy talking to him the whole way, trying to keep him alive but unfortunately.” she said.
