Author and businesswoman, Jackie Phamotse believes someone is trying to sabotage the Township Economy. This is why there have been so many incidents at taverns across the country, according to Phamotse.
Her theory is that someone is targeting taverns in a bid to get tavern owners to lose their licenses. This will then spark a tavern takeover, with new taverns popping up.
“Someone is trying to sabotage Township Economy, creating explosive agendas that black people’s taverns are unsafe.”

Phamotse’s tweets comes after the latest tavern shooting incidents in Pietermaritzburg and Soweto over the weekend.
Four people died in PMB, while 15 were killed in the mass shooting at the tavern in Nomzamo informal settlement, Soweto.
The shootings come two weeks after 21 teenagers died at the Enyobeni Tavern in East London during a pen’s down event.
Jackie Phamotse’s speculations that there’s a plan to sabotage Township Economy comes after the State of Qatar called the shooting an “act of terrorism.”
Which has led the discussion that there was a bigger underlying reason behind the shooting.
On Monday, Police Minister, Bheki Cele said that over 130 AK-47 cartridges were found at Mdalose Tavern in Soweto.
It is believed that 5 armed men, with 3 AK-47 rifles were behind the attack.
