Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), shocked all of the media representatives present at the SANEF Congress when he declared his desire for Pitso Mosimane to resume his role as head coach of Bafana Bafana.
He was speaking at the SA National Editors Forum in Parktown, Johannesburg, on Saturday
He even went as far as saying he would get the Motsepe Foundation to subsidise his salary.
“I love Pitso and I will always love Pitso, He has a special place in my heart. I wish he could coach Bafana Bafana and I will get the Motsepe Foundation to subsidize his salary. I think he’s quality and quality shouldn’t come cheap,” said Motsepe.

Mosimane and Motsepe have had a very fruitful relationship, especially during the time Mosimane was at the helm at Sundowns.
Sundowns and Mosimane accomplished something truly remarkable. Sundowns won two Nedbank Cups and five league championships under Mosimane’s leadership.
He left Sundowns in 2020 to join Al Ahly, Egypt’s most successful team, where he won Al Ahly’s eighth Champions League championship after defeating Zamalek once more.
It is still not clear what his next coaching role will be.
