Former President Jacob Zuma was spotted at Sibaya Casino in Durban on Friday whilst on medical parole.
Zuma underwent a surgical procedure on 14 August due to him being ill with a life-threatening condition. He was placed on medical parole 2-months into his 15-month prison term.
According to the Department of Correctional Services, Zuma’s appearance at the casino did not breach terms of his medical parole.
A DCS spokesperson said parole conditions are not disclosed with the public.
He is allowed to leave his home and visit restaurants, however he cannot consume any illegal substances. As reported by the Sunday Times, Zuma was spotted at Sibaya Casino after a meeting with Carl Niehaus and Dudu Myeni, former chair of South African Airways.

Zuma did not attend a prayer his supporters held last week due to his “strict medical parole conditions”.
“I remain a prisoner, under very strict parole conditions. Like what house arrest and banning orders must have felt like during the colonial-apartheid government,” Zuma told the crowd via video.
