A Zambian pastor died after attempting to recreate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. James Sakara, a 22-year old pastor of a Zion church had allegedly convinced his congregation to bury him alive so that he could resurrect himself in 3-days.
According to the Daily Mail, Pastor Sakara was dug up from the grave he was buried in 3-days later in Chadiza.
Before attempting the resurrection, Sakara quoted verses from the Bible and explained that Christ’s instruction to his disciples to “do this in remembrance of me (Jesus) on the night he was betrayed” at Holy Communion.
The Zambian pastor was reported to have focused on the last part of the scripture.
According to Pastor Sakara’s interpretation, Jesus wanted his followers to remember him not only by partaking in the holy sacrament but through resurrection miracles as well.
Following the commands given by the pastor, 3 members of the church tied his hands together and buried him alive, when they returned to dig him up 3-days later his lifeless body was discovered. They proceeded to conduct spiritual rituals.
