Home with Mapaseka officially revamped and had put a little more twist to the show’s content.
Our first revamped show was on 10 September 2018 with the Founder of Umzala Positive Network, Inspirational Speaker and HIV activist, Lebogang Motsumi who revisited her life journey.
The truth is, we all have our past mistakes, but what matters most is how we deal with our slipups and how much we grow from each experience.
Lebogang dubbed herself “uBabes We HIV”, and shares the naked truth about living with the virus.
She said she was only 17 when she was infected by her boyfriend, a well-known singer who has since died. She found herself bedridden in the hospital for six months, after struggling to accept her diagnosis, and believing that prayer could cure HIV. There are a series of tragic events that happened to Lebogang and she is only 29.
From being diagnosed with depression, trying to commit suicide, being robbed at gunpoint, and she was also diagnosed with a kidney disease.. She spoke about one of the biggest issues in our country that affects young people, abortion.
Personally, I’ve seen this happening several times even to adults, WE as women are mostly scared of being pregnant than being infected by sexually transmitted disease especially when we are not sure about the relationship that we are in.
Have you ever seen how you will panic and go for pregnancy test after sex than rushing to the clinic for HIV test or any other sexually transmitted disease?
To quote her “ For me, it was getting rid of the problem that I am caring and move on with the dreams that I want to achieve.”
Her story inspired our Afropolitan women who also shared insights about their previous relationships and how they’ve learned from them
