Royal AM made headlines this weekend but it wasn’t for their magnificent win of the KZN derby against Marizburg United which took them to the top-three of the DStv Premiership.
The club owners where seen doing something that had never been seen in Premier League soccer in the country.
Mkhize and her son, Andile, the club chairman, walked onto the pitch with an envelope filled with cash where they looked to line up players to hand their agreed winning bonuses in front of the cameras.
A video of a club official counting bank notes and putting them in an envelope for a player went viral. Club owner Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize is seen in the video celebrating as her son carries large bank notes as players line-up after winning the game.
This is amateurish behaviour which @OfficialPSL must never allow. @BabizebonkeZ @SuperSportTV this is not what we signed for. Nothing wrong with rewarding your players but order and decency must be a bare minimum standard to be observed pic.twitter.com/kKsOUaqSyP

In the video one member of the Royal AM management entourage could be heard shouting, ‘come get your sweets’, to the clear dismay of club captain Lesego Manganyi and match-winner Tsepho Rikhotso.
Royal AM bought their PSL status from Bloemfontein Celtic after failing to honour their promotion/relegation play-off fixtures amid their courtroom battle.
The club has gone to beat Kaizer Chiefs 4-1, in one of their previous matches and have continues to show their presence in the DStv Premiership.

What Royal AM and Mamkhize did was very degrading and embarrassing to player, they should have just issued a statement and do EFT to player not try to embarrass them like that.

This is unprofessional by MaMkhize and Andile and Royal AM as a club. This is PSL, not SAB League. pic.twitter.com/3r8Lbn0naj

If the football governing bodies of this country don’t do anything about what Royal AM “management” did to after yesterday’s match, then we are heading for a slippery slope. Professionalism in all senses, is still part of the game. That act was outright disrespectful. #RoyalAM 🚮
