Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson is still mourning the death of her step-father, Shona Ferguson.
The actress took to Twitter to talk about how she cried after presenting the category of honouring actors who recently died at the fifth Royalty Soapie Awards.
Lesedi was presenting alongside Leslee Neshehe, the wife of the late Mutodi Neshehe, and Sikelelwa Sishuba – the wife of the late Menzi Ngubane.

The actress says she broke down after leaving the stage.
“Shortly after presenting this segment, I broke down backstage. We have lost so many of our own in the shortest time,” she wrote on Twitter.

Lesedi previously spoke about how dear the Royalty Soapie Awards were to her.
“I was told to hold it down. I did. But I could not and cannot do it alone. Last night was big in many ways. 1. My first red carpet. Ever.
2. Our Wins (@jessicankosi & @luyanda_thabede). 3. Remembering everyone who has left us. We’ve lost so much and seeing those faces – including Fah’s – broke me. I bawled. Yhu. 4. The collective industry coming together to celebrate in all of our magic and recognizing our legends and those behind the scenes. Thank you @royaltysoapieawards for the invitation and the nominations on behalf of @ferguson_films. A lovely hosting, it was,” she wrote on Instagram.
