Watch: Mihlali Ndamase tells Boity about her R50k girlfriend allowance

Women all over South Africa are dreaming about a girlfriend allowance after Mihlali Ndamase revealed she once received a whopping R50,000 a month.

The award-winning influencer revealed the amount during a chat with Boity Thulo on her YouTube channel.

“I once had a girlfriend allowance, and shame it was cute,” she told Boity, The ‘Wuz Dat’ rapper asked Mihlali “what’s cute?”.

“He used to give my R50k a month,” she replied casually. Boity was not shocked by the amount.

“That’s very cute,” she said.

While Mihlali and Boity made the hefty girlfriend allowance seem normal, the Twitter streets were in complete shock.

“Even R500 at this rate will do,” one woman joked.

Another tweep added: “How is it just cute in a calm, not surprised tone ???? I would have jumped on that couch and probably threw her with the [cushions] on some girrrrrrlllllllll???? Skhape wena emhlabeni.”

Mihlali Ndamase’s lavish lifestyle

While some Twitter users were quick to call Mihlali a gold digger, she is doing pretty well for herself. She is one of South Africa’s highest-paid influencers.

Mihlali told Cassper Nyovest on ‘The Braai Show’ that her biggest cheque was R1-million.

“I don’t remember what I did with it,” she revealed. Mihlali is also a CEO after starting her own business.

The 24-year-old can clearly get by just fine with or without a man. During an episode of Lasizwe’s ‘Drink or Tell the Truth’, Mihlali revealed that she once spent R40k on a Louis Vuitton bag.

One Twitter user warned that everything comes with a price and urged women to be smart.

“I hope she managed to invest some of that money. Remember looks fade. She must maximize her pretty privilege. But women need to also know that they can earn more than 50k using their own brains. Everything comes at a cost. We don’t know what was expected of her for that money.”

    • regulate, in harmony with international standards, the processing of personal information by public and private bodies in a manner that gives effect to the right to privacy subject to justifiable limitations that are aimed at protecting other rights and important interests,
    1. Definitions and Interpretation

    1.1.“Personal Information” means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person and where it is applicable, identifiable, existing juristic person, including all information as defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. 

    1.2  Parliament assented to POPIA on 19 November 2013. The commencement date of section 1, Part A of Chapter 5, section 112 and section 113 was 11 April 2014. The commencement date of the other sections was 1 July 2020 (with the exception of section 110 and 114(4). The President of South Africa has proclaimed the POPI commencement date to be 1 July 2020.

     
    1.3. “Processing” means the creation, generation, communication, storage, destruction of personal information as more fully defined in the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.  

    1.4. “You” or the “user” means any person who accesses and browses this website for any purpose. 

    1.4. “Website” means the website of the KAYA 959 at URL www.kaya959.co.za or such other URL as KAYA 959 may choose from time to time.
