Tourism Minister Lindiwe Sisulu recently visited the Shembe (Nazareth baptist) church to pray with them during their annual pilgrimage to their holy mountain.

In a video that surfaced on social media showing her visit to the mighty church, she pleaded with the church members to pray for the unity of the African National Congress.

In her brief address to the church, she spoke about how they (ANC) was defeated by the likes of IFP in Kwa Zulu Natal, and asked for them to pray for the liberation movement.
“I thank you all members of the Nazareth church who afforded me this opportunity to join you in this prayer. I ask you to pray for us as the ANC to be united and be one because now we are being defeated by the likes of (Velenkosini) Hlabisa (the president of the IFP). Hlabisa has said he (and his party) will continue to defeat us. Thank you a lot Shembe church members,” Sisulu said
Sisulu has over the last week been under attack for her criticism of the judiciary and the Constitution in an opinion piece where she questioned the judiciary and its commitments to transforming the South African society.
Her visit to the Shembe Church has further sparked rumours that she’s doing the groundwork for her candidacy in the 2022 Presidential Election at the upcoming ANC elective conference in December.
