Vuyo Dabula has addressed rumours that he will no longer be appearing on ‘Generations: The Legacy’. True Love magazine reported this week that contract negotiations were not successful.
Vuyo, who played Gadaffi on the popular SABC 1 soapie, says he left a while ago.
“What you have been watching was prerecorded something like two months ago. My ship sails a perilous dark sea by choice now. Do not look back,” he wrote on Instagram.
According to a source, Vuyo has no plans to return in the future.
“He has left the show for good this time – after a lot of back and forth,” the mole told True Love.
Vuyo had been with the show since 2014. The actor’s fans wished him all the best, with many saying they hoped to see him on their screens soon.
“You’ll make magic wherever you go,” one Instagram user commented.

‘Generations: The Legacy’ also confirmed Vuyo’s exit, but declined to confirm whether it has anything to do with contract negotiations.
According to the Daily Sun, Vuyo considered leaving the show in late 2020. Producers allegedly gave him an ultimatum between shooting season two of ‘Queen Sono’ and remaining on the show.
A source told the publication that Vuyo decided to continue with ‘Queen Sono’.
“It makes no sense for him to choose to leave a show that gives him financial stability. He is leaving behind a stable salary,” a source claimed.
Season two of the Netflix show was eventually canned for various reasons, including COVID-19 delays.
Pearl Thusi played the lead role in the series. Vuyo does not seem too fazed by his exit from ‘Generations’. He is not looking back, and his fans are confident that he is on to bigger and better things.
In the meantime, his fans will be glued to his Instagram page.
